Well spotted Sam.

This S3 looks to have had the tub replaced as it is a different colour. The front LHS outer guard has also been replaced. Would be good to see interior pix and one of the motor.
There seems to be a plethora of ex army S3s coming onto the market lately. Even Perth has quite a few for sale.

Whats going on?

They are just being sold off by those that first bought them from auction, the timing is about right.

A good source of engine bay photos for me though

G'day Folks

Aah Ha, an FFR, and by the description still has the tables and operator's seat fitted, just had a hardtop fitted and a tailgate, easy re-conversion,all with original motor, I bet I know what happened to the clutch, standard common Series 3 problem looks pretty rust free too.

cheers

G'day Folks

That's a nice complete original CR and it looks to still have it's NATO plug mounted on the rear tub just above the number plate the contract Number is C104337 of the 16-12-58 which is the First Contract written for Landrovers for the Australian Army, the first of many These vehicles were basicily Civilian spec vehicles with the blackout switch/light and Nato plug added, it appears to still have the horn button stalk and the blackout light switch in position, and the flasher switch panel on the far right of the dash near the door.

All in All a very complete vehicle.

cheers

G'day All, It appears that the horn button is missing as well as the handle for the blinker switch, otherwise it would be a good project for someone with the time and dedication to restore it , anyway cheers Dennis
ps i don't have my magnifying glass either LOL
