Vale Bob Dimer

Bob Dimer, staunch Military Vehicle collector and Restorer of Perth passed away on Sat 17th July having succumbed to a Brain Tumor.

For those who didn't know him, Bob was responsible for saving and preserving the first genuine LRPV to fall into private hands, as well as attending the auction of the LRPVs when they were released from military service.

He also paraded a series 2A 88' at Anzac day Parades and other shows and was a staunch Military Vehicle collector and restorer. Bob at one time also worked fo Land Rover as a mechanic.

He will be sadly missed by the members of the Veteran Car Club of Western Australia Military Section and the Mustang club in Perth.

Bob was regarded as a bit of an authority on all things Military and did a lot for me in the ten years I knew him.

RIP

Phill

Bob was first class. I met him twenty years ago when roaming around in an Austin Champ. He got me interested in military vehicles and sold me the LRPV. Fortunately I caught up with him a short time ago.
He will be missed by many people.

Very sad to hear. I never met Bob personally, however had kept in contact with him for several years; as we had a shared interest in the Toyota FQ15. We had discussed starting a club several times and swapped info and pics regarding these vehicles. Its a sad coincidence to hear this news as i was about to send him a package with some new information.
