66 2A 114-122

I finally got up to Townsville to pick up 114-122. This particular Workshop was in the same family for about the last 15 years and thanks to Brett, his Dad and family for looking after it for that time.
It is a direct mate (both 1966) for another workshop (114-149) I have, so the plan is to make one good one out of the 2 (in DBG of course).

The body (generally) is fairly tired, but it still retains quite a few of the desireable bits. I still has the twin belt generator and the fan shroud (which I have only ever seen in pics). All the tool holders and both tank dippers as well. It also has 2 good wipers and what appears to be an original extinguisher mount.

One thing I did notice was the wired bolts. Any ideas PPL ?

I have run out of space at home (so I am told), so it gets to stay at my daughters place for a while.

More pics later.

The wired bolts are to stop them undoing. Like locknuts but more agricultural - your others should have them too.

I understand the technical concept, I was curious to know if it is a Landy or Army thing. I dont recall seeing it on my others

Sorry cobber - didn't mean to tell you how to suck eggs.

As others have said, it's a landyism.

No worries mate, I like eggs

Thanks all, I will have to check my others. If a engine was rebuilt, would the tie wire normally be replaced ?? in other words, could this be used as a telltale for previous engine work ??
