Perentie Land Rover Disposal Program

Hi all,

After having lurked this forum for several years, I feel I should add the following information for all to potentially benefit.

After having sent many emails and left numerous messages across the defence network, I finally got a logical and informative response regarding the disposal of army vehicles in the coming years.

The numbers in brackets is the physical number of vehicles to be "disposed" of

Happy Reading::

Good Morning Oliver,

The Army, the Fleet Managers for vehicles such a Landrovers have only announced a revision in the replacement program in the last 4 months. The original plan involved mainly Townsville bases vehicles.

The "new" plan involves disposal of Landrovers, Unimogs & Macks Australia-wide, staggered over the next 5 years+.

The disposal timetable seems to unfold as such,(for Landrovers )- Townsville June - Dec 2010 (193); then Puckapunyal Sept 2010 (12) Cairns, March 2011(70), Sydney Sept 2011 - March 2012(171); Darwin, June - Dec 2012 (138) and Brisbane March 2013 - March 2014 (267).

Neither the method of disposal nor venue is known at this time, and some timetable aspects may change however it is expected to become clearer in the next 18 months. As you have included your address you will be updated on the "Landrover" disposal database and be contacted in regard to future developments.

In the meantime, some Commands may dispose of vehicles locally which suffer from misadventure, through a sales agent.

Regards,

Bob Sheather

Doesn't look like all the vehicles listed either. Still, it's a start at least. Thankyou.

No, but judging by the 'average' condition of the Perenties that were used by the army to carry veterans in this years ANZAC parade, the prices will vary depending on the state of each vehicle.

I suspect that the first to be disposed of will be the 'ratted' ones

Me thinks the figures'll change by then, and they'll be serious demand - regardless of condition.

Oliver - welcome to the forum mate, that's gotta be a record, thanked about 20 times in your first post good one mate

I'd think the army would be hoping for a reasonable ammount. last I heard from an army source was that they were going to be released in small batches to keep their value up,, unlike the series 2 and 3 auctions en masse.
