I believe (as had already been said) that you are getting the SIII military dumb irons or the civilian chassis dumb irons confused with the SIIa military chassis dumb irons.

If you look hard at the image you should see that the plate at the front of the chassis side rails is flat and about in-line with the brackets for the spring hangers. ASFAI can see the only modification has been the welded on winch plate.

The SIII military models have a welded extension bracket at this point.

Lachlan

Yes Mark is correct yours is a SIIa "cross-eyed" lights model. The wipers are cable operated so that limits the model to anything from about 1967 to 1970 and only the chassis number will be able to confirm which year it went into service.

It also seems that your gardening tool brackets are in the wrong place and side!

What are you doing with the roller fairlead? My one on my RRc has a bit of rust and I wouldn't mind replacing it.

Sorry the only brushguard I know of which is likely available is an SIII and not correct for your vehicle.

Diana

im almost 100% sure its not a military mod as the only holes in this steel place are exact for a modern "warn" winch. also the curent bumper bar is a part of this plate. i will post pics though as soon as i have access to a camera.

Not being an authorised inspector I can't really say, however AFAIK you need a bar that extends in front of the wheels.

The two places I would contact about a bar and brushguard local to you are Brian Danielson at Land Vehicle Spares 4 Econo Place Silverdale Land Vehicle Spares - Auto Parts Recyclers - Silverdale, NSW - Yellow Pages® or Hilton Pollard on the Putty Road at Colo Heights or PM Master Chief

Great workshop!!!

I believe a full width bumper is a requirement, however ADRs are not retrospective, and I am not sure when the bumper requirement came in.

The front of my GS looks like this.

I have been stopped at roadworthiness checkpoints in several states, and the bumper has never been mentioned.
