Landrover series 3
Hello,
Some time ago i purchased a replacement engine for the truck. I am happy to report that it runs very well and finally this vehicle is mechanically sound (touch wood). I am now progressing on to fitting the odds and ends i jave collected over the years, these include rear seating, winch, blackout lighting. I still have a few large jobs remaining, i am replacing the rear crossmember in a few weeks as it is rotten, i will be refitting the door glass channels as they too are rotten, and need to deal with my firewall. I wish there were plastic window channels available to suit because i have replaced these before but they tend to disintegrate quickly. I have found a place in England that may have the kits for 14 pounds per window. What advice on the firewall, it has small rust under the drivers side where the plates meet. Is replating or replacement better? Today it was sunny here so i have attached some pics of the truck. good excuse to waste time and play with my toys ![]() IMG_0113web.jpg IMG_0114web.jpg IMG_0115web.jpg |

Looking good!!
I'm still yet to lay my hands on a LR 6 pot. I do have a civy one lined up though, then I just have to get the military bits to fit to it. fingers crossed.

![]() I know you were just playing around but, if your serious about doing a display, get some Hessian(to make skirts and remove shadow from under the vehile, and to cover the wheels, lights windscreen and door glass and mirrors etc) some sand bags, Cam poles (saplings about 7 foot long) and 2 more came nets, I think we used to 3 nets to cover the rovers with a trailer attached. a bloke in Albruy advertises regularly on EBay in the Army surplus section and often puts up cam nets, I think (don't quote me) that they go for around $150.00 from memory. Cheers Steve. ![]() ![]() |
