Talking SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINY!

After the dramatic colour transformation that occurred with nothing more than a wash, I decided to see what else I could do to get Ambrose looking pretty.

I bought some cheap Polyglaze cut and polish from Coles and set to work.

WOW!

He comes up a treat! I think if I gently try and remove the graffiti and uncover the geneva crosses, I can probably stave off his paint job for a while!

I couldn't believe just how well it came up!

I did most of the right hand side, but I left a patch so you could compare the difference.

Do it!

I just gave Ambrose a good blast with the gurney, then scrubbed him with a brush (the kind you get in a set with a dustpan).

The cut and polish brought him right up though. Do it - see what he comes up like!

And yeah - we'd better get the AULRO official minstral onto it, especially since I ruined one of his other productions by changing my avatar! (he used the line "Shonky's avatar is a tractar" (sic)

G'day Shonky

Hey, looking good mate it will look real nice up at the Jeep Club Swap @ Canungra

If you can get that result from Polyglaze cut & polish, wonder what would be the result using "Kitten No 2" cut & polish or Kitten Water Rubbing Compound ? that is the stuff that the panel beaters/painters use with their polishing machines with lambswool pads, but it works VERY well at removing minor paint damage (by hand),and could be worth trying on the graffiti, (but gently) also where you are left with someone's paint on your vehicle, hence the saying "it will Buff out", BTW. the original owner of OLR-067's Ambo did the same to his when he first met the REMLR guys, as his was painted in Matt Black he spent 2 days hand cutting it back to reveal the Deep Bronze Olive, and the No 2 on the door and roof, there should be some pics of OLR's truck when he first got it, and after he repainted it, as was posted up by somebody a couple of days ago when he took it to Mick-Kelly's BBQ

cheers

Sung to the tune of "Sitting in Limbo" by Jimmy Cliff.

(I think this song is about twice as old as you are Andrew so I put a link in case you've never heard it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY0IXwsCxZI )

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Driving in Ambrose

Polishing my ambo
And I’m singing a new song
Polishing my ambo
Might need a ladder that is long
I’ll need some assistance
Or a large crate that I can stand on.

Polishing my ambo
This Rover is so tall
Polishing my ambo
It’s the size of a dancehall
With a little bit of persistence
She’ll look like the day that she was born

I’ve used sixteen cans of polish
Now my Bloodbox is all clean
And you know what I am seeing
It’s a lovely shade of green
But my arm is really tired
And the polish rag is torn

A big red cross I will adorn

Driving in my ambo
On the corners, she does roll
Driving in my ambo
Hope the wind she does not blow
May need parking assistance
Cause in reverse I can’t see too much at all

I don't know where I can park her
Cos the garage roof’s too low
So I’ll put her in the driveway
And I’ll leave her up on show
Invite all my friends to ride in her
But there’s one thing they must know

They all will be lying down

Driving in my ambo
I’m a Landy devotee
Driving in my ambo
Might just drive down to the sea
Watchin’ out for low bridges
And branches growing down from a tree

Driving in Ambrose
Driving in Ambrose
Driving in Ambrose
Driving in Ambrose
Driving in Ambrose
etc
