The previous times I have taken Ambrose to Corowa, both times have had me slaving away until past midnight the night before to get him ready for the drive down. This year, he almost didn't make it due to having no brakes until the morning of departure!

This year I am going to have him ready well in advance, starting soon.

Need to do a few things to get him Corowa-ready:

- fix brakes (warped drum and buggered front shoes)
- splash some paint around (rad supt panel, bulkhead, panel over rear doors, bumper convoy whites)
- Rod radiator and general cooling system check and flush
- Tune *properly*
- get front right tyre rebalanced
- service
- windscreen leak

...plus whatever else I find to do.

Watch this space!

Poor Ambrose has been a bit of a phantom on the show circuit this year. We missed motorfest due to work, missed Expo, missed pretty much everything else.

Made it to All British Day on a wing and a prayer and was glad to make it home.

Forgive me, I have sinned. I have been neglecting my baby.

Not to worry - he will be back! He's having a sleepover at Uncle Ben's place (KLR Automotive) at the moment being lavished with all the things I don't have the time, set-up, or inclination to do at the moment. (We recently moved house and my tools are still all over the place) I leave for Corowa on Thursday so I'll be picking the old bus up on Monday evening having been thoroughly serviced, new pointless (as in without points ) ignition, radiator rodded, brakes worked over and a thorough pre-flight check in anticipation of the long drive South.

I did have a little issue on the way there though... ran out of fuel on the side of the M7. That will teach me for trusting a Land Rover guage... Of course, it happens the ONLY time in 2.5 years of ownership that I roll out the driveway without a full jerrycan on board.

Good luck with that white knuckle ride Shonks...just be thankful your not Greg150 from CQ...then again he is missing the joy of having stretcher racks banging their heads off.

Happy travels.
