I'd be in for a no. 5 but can only see one on that page. those track trailers don't grab me in the right places As far as bidding over the phone goes GOOD LUCK. I tried a while back for one in adelaide but the bloke didn't ring me back when it came up and was then uncontactable, even with a $500 deposit!

If they are listed as single unit lots, and the auctioneer wants to put them up as one lot, he should ask the punters if this is OK. You can then express disapproval. Ask him to put them up as one lot, bids per each, successful bidder to pick one or as many as they wish to buy. If any remaining, the auctioneer should then ask if anyone else wants one or more at that price. If no takers, then he asks for new bids.

You can also put in an On-line bid. Works like an Autobid/Phone bid. Click on the "Auction Details" tab to place a bid. You will need to register with Mannheims.

G'day Folks

Yes, there appears to be only one No5 trailer there, but the other ones, "Tracker" are the indepentently sprung units, with a tailgate, override brakes and handbrake, also spare tyre location and canopy locations,(some with canopies) the wheels are outboard of the body with tiedown rails, they are fitted with 7.50 x 16 inch Landrover wheels, Pintle Lunettes, and Nato Plugs,(there are REMLR members that would purchase these plugs from people wishing to convert to 7 pin plugs)

If you are seriously interested in these trailers, then please express your interest to Phoenix in the first instance, but remember these trailers will probably be around the same price as the last ones, and they were around $1K plus charges+gst, so you would have to be able to have access to $1200 up front each, if there is going to be a group buy.

And yes, there will REMLR members there on the day

cheers

Uncle Ho

That is what happened last time...after 3 were sold seperately The Dodgey Bros got him to put up as one lot saying winner could have his pick....after he won he stated he was taking the lot...left us all high and dry.

I am not working that day..so........will be there and will go in the day before to have a gander

I went to the last auction and bought a Track trailer ($1000 + 13.5% charges or something like that). IMHO they are the pick for off road and carrying ability just from looking at how they are constructed and not as yet from using it. Nothing against the traditional no5's, without doubt the best leaf sprung trailer around. However, with coil springs, koni shocks, independent suspension, hydrolic brakes (incl handbrake) with gal body/chassis and a tailgate - this is a trailer that is hard to beat.

From how it's constructed I'd be happy taking this trailer to the Cape, Gibb River Road and Mitchel Plateau Road.

I can only comment on how it's constructed. In service people will give a true appraisal of how it performs in the field.

One thing to note about the Track Trailer is that it weighs 460kg and is 1 tonne GVM. That means in Qld as I've found out you need a RWC (RWC not req on no 5 as GVM is 750kg) to get it registered. The upside is a greater carrying capacity.

good luck REMLR members

Pete
