G'day Garrycol
The reason that your 101 has no Compliance plate is that they were only ever brought in for the Army, and as such did not require a Compliance plate for Army use, the compliance plate was only for vehicles that were built and or sold new in Australia from 1972 onwards, and that had the ADR compliance stamped into it, IE this vehicle complies with ADR 27/27a.etc, this listed the types and quantity of anti-pollution gear & safety features fitted when sold new, seatbelts, belt mountings, seating capacity, external mirrors, reversing lights, hazard lights, heater demister, etc.
so if your 101 doesn't have it, don't worry, it never did

all the later privately imported vehicles have different requirements to get compliance for use in Aust.
