All the ex army S3s that I've seen have had their data plates located on the passenger side of the seat box.

Not sure which one you are refering to. Are you talking about the standard Land Rover plate?

The aluminium plate fixed to all cars sold new in Australia from the early 70s that says what ADRs it complys with, date the plate was affixed etc.
I would like to know whether these were also fitted to army series 3s. I know they were not fixed to 101s so I assume they were not fitted to army vehicles - but I do not know for sure. They are not an Army plate but a civy plate. The plates in the pic posted by Stuart are all army specific plates. thanks Garry

Garry,
I don't know about the Series 3's but my late Series 2A (ex-army or ex-RAAF) has a compliance plate fitted. There's a picture of it on this page; 2A 88 GS -REMLR Perenties have compliance plates fitted as well. Ian |

G'day Garrycol
![]() As far as I know they were fitted with compliance plates on the front radiator panel, the late Series 2a's did, it would also have the Leyland plates on the inside of the firewall just in front of the gear levers, these would be the Rover/Leyland vehicle plate and the Pressed Metal Corp. body plate the one on the upper surface of the radiator panel is about 2" x 3" from memory reverse stamped, it could be painted over, a good way to check if it is Military, is check if it has a raised chassis like the 2a's as the earlier ones did![]() The Military Nomenclature Plates should be on the left end of the seat box. hope that helps

I believe my series 3 has a compliance plate, so yes. And the military series 3 did not have cut guards.
The compliance plate is just in front of the radiator under the bonnet.

Ok - thanks for all that good information - so to hyjack my own thread - my doesn't my 101 have a ADR compliance plate?
Have the standard army stuff on the passenger side of the air intact tunnel as well as the state mod plates for the LPG etc but no ADR compliance plate. Garry
