No. 5 trailer track

Hi all, can someone tell me the axle flange face to face measurement for a No.5 please? (IE the actual track width from where the rims mount.)

I have been asked by someone who needs to work out some modification ideas.

Thanks,

JC

Flange to flange

JC

I measured 1.419m from outside of hub flanges on my number 5.

Hope this helps.

G'day Justinc

Sorry, but my RPS on the No 5 does not give the track, but it does give the axle dimensions as length 59 inches by 1 7/8 inch dia.
it predates metric axle oil seal is PR5178

cheers

Thanks HEAPS guys! I had an associate with a few 2a bits in his shed lined up to measure for me but he is away

So thankyou I'll pass the info on

(I guess I should come clean at this point and mention that he is modifying the no5 to turn it into a fire fighting rig for his property, which involves an axle mod for extra weight, and a lowering of CG. Don't worry, it won't be completely altered)

G'day Justinc

Those No5's will cope with 1TON quite well and 30cwt (1 1/2 ton) will get the springs to the bump stops (full load w/-hungry boards of Bluemetal) if it would be carrying that weight regularly, I would advise elect brakes,or LWB series rear units same as county/110 drum rears, (you could use over limit drums and 2nd O/s shoes), fabricating a backing plate mount should not be to hard, with a universal 1" drawbar mount M/cyl override or solenoid activated.

cheers
