Driver Awareness Day Sunday June 25th
Date: Sunday 25 June 2006
Trip leader; Peter Mayo Trip grading; generally Easy, but I have found a beauty of a road that makes one section Medium to Hard! Note that this section will mean it is not suitable for vehicles without low range, however there is a way around this track if required. Meeting: 8.00am for 8.30am departure, McDonalds Goodna (off Ipswich Motorway) Equipment; two-way radio, recovery gear (snatch strap, rated shackles, gloves as a minimum), full tank. Bring; morning tea, lunch, hat, sunscreen, paper to write on, pencil or pen The day is designed as a vehicle familiarisation day for recent members, but would also suit those who are often not permitted to play with the big boys' toys! (partners, not children). It will consist of basic familiarisation with the differences and similarities between "conventional" vehicles and 4WDs, discussions of some technical aspects of 4WDs and then a relaxing drive around some areas west of Brisbane. Driving distance yet to be finalised, but guessed at around 200km. Limit 10 vehicles. To book email tripco-ordinator@rangeroverclubqld.org.au |
