Looks as though it's fitted with the 6 cylinder Landy engine.... that wasn't very common on the S2A's was it ? Factory option ?

According to James Taylor, the six became a factory option from April 1967 on 109s. In Australia they were pushed as the answer to the Landcruiser's six cylinder engine, and I remember spotting my first one (used by an oil exploration company in Roma) in the same year, or possibly early 1968, but I'm pretty certain it was 1967. They seem to have survived less well than the four, mainly because they are more susceptible to abuse and lack of maintenance, and have always been expensive to repair. Most that are still on the road have probably been replaced by Holden engines. Probably most buyers who were after power bought Landcruisers anyway, which probably limited sales somewhat.
