... and our other Land Rover is...

Our old faithful . We have had this since 1990 and it has never missed a beat. It doesn't get a lot of use but when used it gets pretty well abused. It always starts first kick. Needs a chassis transplant.

Bundalene,

just as a matter of interest, is your "other land rover" a genuine ex-military and if so does Phoenix have your (chassis, sensis, etc.) details

Hi, I am pretty sure it is ex millitary - will check the chassis number next month when we go back up the block - what else should I check for ? It still has the 4 cylinder motor.

G'day Bundalene

Your Landy definately does look like it is Ex Military, and a winch model too there should be a little metal plate on the dash panel recess inside the cab in front of the passenger, it is about 3"x4" in size, this is the ID plate, (it could be painted over ) if not the chassis No from the left rear spring hanger plate will do

cheers

We still have the canvas canopy too, in storage - and it's in pretty good nick. As for the winch - I bought this from Hilton Pollard years ago and fitted it myself - the bull bar is original. We won't be going out to our block until after the long weekend. I'll check the numbers then.

Cheers Erich

Well, after a few pleasant days at our block, we are back home. We looked at the Landrover and found this on the passenger rear spring hanger. Note there is a faintly stamped "4" just before the "C" .
Can anyone identify this??? Model, year etc. I have more photos if these will help.

Cheers, Erich
