shackle change

Found a good use for a scissor jack. I'll put it back under the bench instead of in the bin. made life real easy.

Excuse me for commenting. But they are not very pretty shackles (not that shackle plates are ever pretty), they are also very long!

Are you going to fit a spacer in the centre, like the OEM extended shackles?

Come Now uncle a bit of tolerance, everyone is different.
besides if that range rover ( 2 down from you) at all british day was an example of giving landys a good name, this doesn;t even rate for a bad name example

shackles

They'll be getting spacers, these are the first ones I have made for a landy. will prob go a bit shorter. The hole centres on the ones pictured are 6" prob go back to 5" centres, the 6" seems to be a bit angry for the front shaft.
I have done the same on the front and it steers real nice with the increased caster angle, but I'll be going a little shorter allround (re front shaft). I drive this thing everyday and do my best to stay out of everyones way, be considerate of other motorists. Offroad stay to designated tracks, and would never dream of driving anything on a public road that was a danger to others, my kids are on the road too.
