Land Rover SIII "Game" /// Register of information

Ok, as mentioned in another thread I would like to gather together in one place whatever information people are willing to share about their own or other peoples Games. I will copy some articles from early magazines that I have and post those up when I get a chance but I would also just like to get a register of the build number, chassis number and engine number and whatever options they came with. If anybody has articles or other information (perhaps even someone who worked for Landrover who could tell us definitively how many were built) then please post that up as well.

One thing some may not have is the sticker with the paint code on which shows the colour as Yellow Devil and the Code 566-17422

Ok, to start -

Build 7/77
No 211
Chassis 90334839A
Engine 90226489C
Originally had a swing away wheel carrier, bonnet has the dent but no fittings for a tyre.

Build 5/78
No 282
Chassis 92337857A
Engine 90236175C
Spare mounted either behind seats or attached to the rear door. Deluxe flat bonnet.

Thanks,

TimJ

Here are the articles etc that I have managed to get hold of. A black and white copy of the original sales brochure, an article from Land Rover Enthusiast in 2001 and a road test from Wheels Magazine in 1978. Would love to see others if you have any - hint, hint .

Here is mine:

Build 6/78 (it seems I was mistaken the other day when I said it was 2/78)
No 288
Chassis 90342216A
Engine 90247242C
Spare mounted on rear door
Flat deluxe bonnet
Tropical roof
Sunraisia rims with 10 spokes cut out of pressed dish.
Free wheling hubs
Fairey overdrive
J.Mac rear diff locker.
Bull bar is straight across, ie. ends not swept back slightly as on some.

It seems that mine is one after one of Northern Lander's in both build number and chassis number.

Thanks to Killer another article from Overlander magazine in June/July 1976 that actually comes from drives of the prototype before they were released.

Not sure when the locker was installed, it was definately on there when our family acquired the Game in 1982. The overdrive may have been installed post factory as well. Do not know about the turbos though.

Cheers, Mick.
