Oil capacity is 6l, same as the petrol, plus 0.85l for the filter plus 0.85l for the aircleaner.
Recommended oil in the original manual is 20w for temperatures above -10, but I doubt any of the types recommended would be available today. Any diesel engine oil of the correct viscosity will work, as specifications are a lot more severe today than was required in 1957 when the engine was introduced, but I would be inclined to go up in viscosity to handle Australian temperatures better. While the better diesel oils will not hurt, they will provide little if any advantage as far as I can see.
