Well thanks for that tdi130dualcab made me get off my arse and take some Pix :!:

If you're interested I could post the dimensions and all of that guff. I would have now, but it's written on paper with a pen in scrawl and trying to draw it up on computer just sounds like a world of trouble. I could scan the pic.

    Cheers

    Simon.

    Option in Melbourne

    Hi All,

Like many others, I specifically bought a dual cab 130 due to starting a family but was left worried about the child restrain points following the difficulty people were having with this. So now that its all done, I thought I should post up the experience.

Before purchase I asked about this at Massaro Motors - a stealer in Morwell, Victoria. They advised that they send all their Defenders to Veh-Quip V-Gear - After Market Vehicle Accessories in Ferntree Gully, Melbourne. I rang them and they advised that they could fit points to a 130 and quoted $165 for 1 point, or $330 for all three. Only problem - 6 week wait.

Today took Jaffa (towe0609's 130 Dual Cab Jaffa) in today. I've got the tray off at the moment which probably both made it a lot easier for them, as well as a good opportunity to take some photos. As well as the photos I've attached copies of the invoice and engineering certificate (in next post) for anyone interested.

In summary it is the most expensive three holes I've ever had drilled - but all in all, was pain free and easy to get done. The only problem was veh-quip lost my door key - apparently in the car somewhere (keys not connected together when handed over) - lucky I have spares! Bit sloppy but no big deal - they got lucky.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears the simplest way is the method used by towe0609 - simply 3 holes drilled with sufficient backing plates. Is this correct?

Anyone with experience fitting one to the Defender 110?
I've had it done to my new puma 110 at Karlisle's. They built new plates into the back of the middle row seats with attachment points that extend through the rear lining sitting at the required distance below the top of the seat, 25cm I think. Engineers certificate included.
