Woohoo. I get to start. Tub mounts broke on the 130 in FNQ. Tied the tub on with fencing wire and did thousands more kms on dirt and corrugations without any problems. Tub and all the weight (for a four week trip) didn't move.

If you use a small piece of wood you can make mouse and rat traps similar to the old Supreme ones. I've got a few around here that I made awhile back, I'll have to see if I can find them.

A fencer on the old corrugated Stuart Highway once told me he ALWAYS made sure there were plenty of wire offcuts near the cattle grids, so people wouldn't cut up the fence to rehang their exhaust systems...

    Hi,
three lengths of wire about 1m long, 1 bench vice, 1 piece of wood about 10x40x200mm with three holes inline near the centre, about 10mm apart.

Poke wires through holes about 50mm and hold in the vice.

With the piece of wood horisontal on the vertical wires, start rotating to twist the wires together in a spiral. The outer 2 should spiral around the inner one.

Keep twisting till ablout 150mm of wire is left at the top.

Remove from vice, remove wood, and shape the top to a trident toasting fork.

Hammer the tips flattish, and shape with a file to a spear point for toast.

Insert the handle end into a suitable wooden handle and glue in place.

    Make toast without burning fingers.

    cheers
