I finally replaced the tailgate locking spring in the Disco last weekend. I've seen posts elsewhere but not many pictures how to do it so I decided to take several pictures along the way to help others who have the same problem and myself for later when the spring breaks again!
A word of caution. You'll need a special tamperproof screwdriver right near the end to remove the locking mechanism. Don't start the job until you have one. I didn't realise that until near the end but luckily I had a set of these screwdrivers/tools.
The job took about one and a half hours but next time round it would probably take a bit over an hour to disassemble and reassemble.

Haha yeah I've done that fix in the past on my old V8 and it was a lot of swearing and sore fingers but that's great that there is a tutorial type thing up. Cheers for that![]()
