Blazing a trail through undergrowth is always going to be hard work!

I was talking briefly to Ken McRitchie yesterday and he told me that the army had recently ordered a large number of spare parts ( which you may recall are the specific Perentie body pressings) , which surprised him seeing they were being sold off.

Maybe they reckon it is worthwhile to fix some with body damage before selling them.

I don't think its the army that ordered the spare parts (then agin I could be wrong). When I went to AFM (contracted to sell government assests) to get my blue slip, there I saw a number of dedicated mechanics, electricians and body repairers fixing away on the 4x4 perentie's in order to pass the blue slip. Once they are up to scratch, they are then either sold on car sales or Grays on line.

    I don't understand the Government...

What I don't understand is why these are being replaced by a vehicle which was comprehensively beaten by them in the original trials..
The Army has always used Landrovers and yet now are buying lesser Mercs... WTF?

    Ausclassics, welcome to the forum.
You may wish to pop on over to the introductions area of the forum to say gidday and introduce yourself.
Interesting first post. If you have a bit of a browse around the forum, you might find a few threads where this has been discussed. From what I understand, the major reason why Landrover didn't get a guernsey is because they didn't submit a vehicle for evaluation. Landrover weren't interested in the contract to supply.

    VIN unknown to RMS

    G'day Explorer.

    This is not uncommon, IIRC.

    Have you tried Campbelltown RMS?

They register many, many Perenties. If they get stuck (new staff?), just ask for a supervisor.
