    Discovery / Isuzu

    Hello all.

Well, as occasionally mentioned this project started from a 1991 Discovery (blue/3.5/LT-77) trusty, loyal, but gutless and thirsty - into a 1995 bodied (white/4BD1-T/MSA/Salisbury/vented discs/front and rear winch/endless air) complete nightmare of a conversion, commencing August 2008.

Today, it moved under it's own steam for the first time. I did have it on stands as a rolling chassis running and going through the gears to make sure the cable set up was working correctly, however this time it actually looks like a car!

Hope the movie works - it's wobbling around a bit because the shocks aren't fitted and the chirp getting back into the garage was the front nearside tyre - at bugger all revs....

Getting there, just hope it all stays together.

    Matt

    Thanks Muppet.

Yeah, getting there is half the fun - apparently. Maybe I should have waited for a Perentie and bought a set of earmuff and a fan....

This Apple thingy uses 'quicktime', but i'll try converting the file to something else.

    Thanks mate.

Attached file is too small to be a movie. 40.7kb.

    But keen to see more.

Sounds like a good project, more pics?

I'd also replace that black coolant tank for the white one before it splits on you.

Thanks Neale, yes more pics to come and a viewable video...

I wasn't aware those tanks can spilt - not that anything plastic is indestructible.

Yeah the black ones have a habit of splitting along the seam, that is why most people swap them for the white later model ones.

I want to put a 4BD1 in my disco, but money is the problem at the moment :-(

    Dear all.

I'm going to commence a thread in the Project / Tutorial section, which will be more appropriate.

I'll return to the Isuzu section when I have a number plate.

Do you have a part number for the later ones?

Dougal, pretty sure you can only get the opaque upgraded tanks now as they were introduced to replace the black ones.
