    Hi Mike

You mentioned the original M113A1 being bought direct from FMC. Would these still not be covered by the ITAR (International Trade in Arms Regulations)?

    Hi Diana

Covered under ITAR or not wasn't the question: the previous statement was in relation to US State Dept agreements and authority.

Booger: thanks for the Leopard reference: makes a difference to the final distribution list, rather than the 'authorised'.

    Hi Mike

My comment was a new question and most certainly not a statement contradicting your information.

I have been away from the Leopard chase for a while as my focus has been redirected due to work reasons and not being close to the Museum any more.

I did get a great chance to drive a Centurion a few months ago. We also drove an FV432.

    Enjoy Easo

    Dan.
Was at Northampton(North of Geraldton) this week.
The RSL there looks like it has recently taken delivery of a Centurion Tank.Looks like it just escaped a battle, not as neat as the 2 Leapords Ive seen.

Unfortunately that Leopard tank is a Centurion tank, a 1945 end of WWII design, they were sold off by tender in the 1990's and (unlike the disposal of Leopards) haven't been near the Army for a freshen up since that time.

An interesting fact on Centurions: In the Denzel Washington/Meg Ryan movie "Courage Under Fire" the Abrams tanks were actually disguised ex-Australian Centurions.

Here's 27742 (yes, I know you already have some pics) taken at Beaconsfield, Tas. when I was there in October 2015.

    This is a sampler.

No ****.I said it was a Centurion!!!!
I took the pics and published them because I know Dan loves his tanks.
Perhaps the Northampton RSL boys couldnt suck hard enough to get a Leopard
Its over 700km from here so I took pics as I may not be back there soon,I doubt Dan will either.
