    600 bhp Rover 3.5

Normally aspirated 3.5 Rover with 600 bhp. Cost about the same as an Aussie V8Touring Car.

    600 bhp griff engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rover V8 most technically advanced standard bore 3.5 ltr engine ever. This engine was campaigned by Tim Garlick in a 1972 Mk3 Cortina weighing in at 2,700lbs and achieved a best time/speed of 7.70 @167 mph at Santa Pod raceway. ...

Standard bore 3.5ltr with full prep by ICE. Steel forged crank fully balanced. The block has been converted to 4 bolt mains with re-manufactured billet main caps and strengthening girdles. The Achilles heel of the engine (oil system, chain drive and water drive) has been remanufactured including an external scavenge oil pump, new billet front cover, external water pump and crankcase evacuation pump. Crane solid lifter camshaft with Crane lifters, Crane custom push rods supporting Yella Terra roller rockers opening stainless intake/exhaust custom valves with crane valve springs. The greatest amount of development work has been carried out in the head and intake set up with the fabrication of the sheet metal intake and split Holley 1050cfm dominator being matched and built around the most superior ported head castings with built in steam lines and additional oiling and head studs. The intake runners are matched to the intake ports for maximum flow. MSD external distributor drive and MSD crank trigger. Forged ROSS pistons with 4130 pins. Childs and Albert con rods.

Isn't that almost twice as much as the Repco Brabham F1 winning engine?

Wasn't that basically the same engine?

In its day it was probably a good basis.

Today you wouldn't even bother entertaining the thought.
