Just fell off my chair - price of a sill panel!

    Hi all

Been hunting for a driver's side rear sill panel suit my 130. Rang ULR in Melbourne and was quoted $370 plus GST!!!!

It's a piece of tin (pretty sure it is just pressed tin) about 1000mm long x 75mm wide with the sides bent up.....

    That can't be right!

I might try a local sheet metal shop and get one made.

    Just having a vent....

    Cheers

It might be worth contacting these guys and seeing if they're able to help...prices are a LOT more favourable than LR's.

It is probably aluminium, but that does not make much difference. Car manufacturers charge high prices for parts, particularly body parts, because they can.

Reminds me of a conversation I heard quite a few years ago - only heard one side of the phone conversation "$120?" "I asked the price of a plastic hub cap not an alloy wheel!".

Bit that is what is was. Ford Laser, about 1988. Same thing though.

There maybe someone out there who's fitted sliders and has their sill panels still intact ?

I have a set off a 110, but the passenger one is bent already.

Or you could do what I did

Cost about $180 for both sides but the fella did an excellent job. The ends tuck in behind the plastic guards and he has folded it over so it protects the paintwork below the door

    Sorry for the rushed photo
