Playful whales @ Straddie on sunday
Hey all.
We took my disco up Main Beach on North Stradbroke Island on Sunday arvo for a bit of fun. Wanted to see how much trouble I could get in with highway tyres in sand. Turns out not as much as the young blokes in their Tritons that followed us out when we left!
We stopped about halfway up for lunch and a cuppa, and the aquatic locals put on quite a show for us! All I can say is WOW! I've never seen whales in the wild before and this was just awesome!!
We took a heap of pics, and I got lucky with a sequence of 5 shots. I photo montaged them together - here's the result.
Awesome creatures!!

halfway between ocean reef and Rotto.. spotted it about 5k's away and headed over.. it just kept jumping. Unfortunately i only had my general lens on (28-70) so the image is as cropped as it can be!
Good aint they? the whales that is!
