    2013 110 clutch replaced

    Hi guys,

So I took my ltd edition 110 2.2 in for a service at my dealer. 30k on the clock and just a normal service.
I mentioned that in every gear at a particular rpm for a very short time there is a slight rattling noise, similar to that of a loose exhaust shield. The noise only happens under throttle.
Anyway, today I was told that my clutch needs to be replaced and depending on whether the noise is still there maybe my gearbox too.
I've already had 3 rear diffs, rust repairs, gearbox output shaft and shims replaced...........I'm starting to doubt my car, suppose I'm a bit down......
Anyway just thought I'd share my rant, has anyone had the same problem?

The three diffs, shimmed center diff, output shaft, gearbox and clutch all give the same problem, maybe if your dealer simply looked at the vehicle instead of throwing parts at it they might have spared both of you of all this grief. If they want to replace the clutch I would ask them to fit the Sachs clutch. I'm just hoping it gets sorted and I'll have hassle free motoring for years to come. People say LR ownership is a matter of "sorting it out in the warranty period".
I really do hope this is the case

So I just received a call from my dealer. Turns out LR took oil samples and it is the gearbox that needs replacing. .......loosing faith in my car very quickly

    Update:
So today I received my car back from my dealer. It now has a new clutch, new gearbox and new rear axle flanges which were very worn.
First drive it feels amazing. No back lash what's so ever. Much more quiet in cabin and overall driving experience is a pleasure. The dealer told me my gearbox was shot. He thinks it may have been responsible for the diffs, I can't understand how this would be possible.......Can anyone clarify whether this would be possible? It just does not make sense to me

Sounds like he meant the gearbox was the problem all along,as Pat has said.

This is the type of thing that gives the brand a bad name.

The vehicle is fine, just had one issue that was diagnosed incorrectly

I would find another dealer, someone on here may chime in with a reputable one in your area.

It's funny you mention that Pat, I actually called them to remind them of that last week.
