    Help Wanted

SWMBO's Fairlane is getting a bit long in the tooth and we will be looking for a replacement in the future.

I have entertained the prospect of a P38 RR, one of the last around 2001/2002.

I need some help to convince her why we should get this instead of another fairlane. This will purely be a daily driver/ family car, not for off road as my Disco will still be retained.

I want this to be serious so none of the "because Fords are crap" type responses as I am not looking for a Ford V Holden argument.

    Dave.

Fairlanes are very long and hard to park because of it.
P38 much easier for her to park.

Much better vision sitting up higher in the P38.

If you have kids, much easier to put them in as you don't have to bend in half.

Most importantly - it is a Land Rover!

I appreciate the responses but there has been more negative than positive. I was asking for reasons to get a P38 not the opposite.

I am trying to convince the wife to get one and I was hoping for help here, but with the negative responses I dare not show her this thread as this will end any hope I have.

All mine were positive for the P38!

I think the easiest way to convince her to buy a P38: Find a good P38, get her to drive there in the Fairlane, then get her to drive the P38 - job done!

Tell her it will be safer in adverse weather conditions & as stated above that she will have a much better field of vision.

We too are considering a P38a to replace HER 86 Rangie.
She loves the higher driving position, visibility and POWER of hers(warm 4.6).She dislikes the visability in my D2,other than that she would have a D2.Having driven ordinary vehicles on gravel roads in the past a 4x4 is a must, they drive so much better.
