So what's the news, i gather it hasn't turned up anywhere?

It does make me wonder if it has been used for parts?...but then again i would have expected the rest to have turned up by now...

What's the situation with insurance etc? Will you be able to replace it?
Hi Matt,
I assume it,ll be stripped for parts, no sign of anything yet.
Was insured with Affinity risk & in the process of evaluation at the moment.
Unfortunately insured for market value only but all the accessories were also listed. Not all that keen to get an immediate payout , but would like to know the figure so we know where we stand, & can look to the future.
What next? I dont know, but Im pretty sure it,ll be a Landy.
Cheers Dean.

Hmmmmmmm............ cant say I havent looked.
Took a 200tdi hard top for a bit of a spin a couple of weeks ago. 93 model, 148000k,s ............. interesting.
Loved all the extra space , I dont need all the seats anymore & it could be fitted out anyway I want, ran really well but........... the noise & ride comfort are just a little different to the Disco.
Its only the second defender that Ive driven, Im sure they,re an equired taste but could I live with shouting at the passenger cotinually & wearing a kidney belt? It sounded to me like I was driving a vehicle with no firewall.
I like the idea but pushing 35 , one has to take a long hard look at themself.
Cheers Dean.

Hi Dean. Just before I sold my Disco ( it was similar age and model to yours as you know, and insured for market value ) I got an insurance valuation on it from my company ( Allianz). They quoted market value at $10,500. I didn't have any of my accessories listed.

Go drive a D2 you'll find the refinement level a lot higher than a D1. ( for your old bones )
Trouble is finding a good one.

So much to look at decissions, decissions. I,d like a comfortable car but I,d also like a very bush capable car without going over the top.
How much do you spend when you know from time to time your car will cop a little currie??????????
Cheers Dean.
