Gold Disco 3 HSE V8 Stolen

Alas, what is probably one of the less fence-able D3's in Perth was stolen overnight. Thieves scaled 3m fence, broke into the house, took the keys, and stole my D3 (but semi-thankfully didn't steal much else). Since it's the quiet V8 it didn't wake 3 neighbours whose bedrooms overlook the lane it went down. So if anyone around Perth sees a gold V8 HSE (only one in WA) rego, 1CMP 345,with a black ARB wicnh bar, and a spare tyre carrier (but no spare mounted on it) please call the WA police.

Final update: My D3 was found the next morning (last Wed) completely incinerated. We couldn't even identify the engine block (it's alloy and was melted into a blob). The police are confident a professional group took it, used it for a ram-raid and did a superb job of torching it. No doubt having160 litres of 98 octane in the main and aux tanks assisted in the melt. Only the stainless steel exhaust pipe was intact. To cart it off, it took a front end loader 4 shovel fulls to put it in a dump truck. Of course this means that there is no dispute with the insurer on if it is repairable and today I just received payment for it (7 days. Is that a record or what?) There was also what totalled up to $10k of camping and 4WD gear in the back which I hope is insured by the household policy. We had wanted to be off camping by now. I'm a bit of a documentation nut (comes with being a project manager) and had reciepts for everything which was in back and presumably melted or vapourised (but we'll never know). Now it's at earliest May delivery for a D4 then inevitably 6 months to get it set up the way I want.

Sorry I missed the original post and that you had to post it.

At least the insurance was quick. Hope the money for the camping stuff etc is the same.

Hope 2010 is a better year for you.

Dingmark jim, that really sucks mate, I can only imagine how angry you must be, only recently having my house robbed.

Its just horrible when these no good crumbs of society interfere with hard working & honest peoples lives!! May the next car they torch explode in their face.

Allthough its a bit of a compliment that a Disco was chosen for the ram raid though, testament to a solid truck

Do the police have any footage of the ram raid... would be good for your collection of LR memorabilia !
