What's that annoying buzz?

....sounds like the lead into a joke but it isn't.

Sometimes, when I arm or disarm the alarm on my new(ish) Defender, there's a loud buzzing noise. It buzzes in sync with the blinkers when they flash to signify lock/unlock.

I have no idea what it is.... it sounds like it's meant to signify something but it isn't listed in the manual and it's a pretty poor effort at a buzzer if it is deliberate.

Any clues? It's intermittent and it's really bugging me...

Sounds like your relay or flasher unit is on the way out.

X2 on that suggestion. Try turning the hazards on and see if that makes the same noise.

Thanks guys, I'll check. Of course, like everything intermittent it isn't doing it today....

Mind you, I haven't been aware of it buzzing with the blinkers during normal use before...

Cheers

OK, I've isolated it to the front left blinker, it started again when it rained today. Looks like I've got some tinkering to do...

Have you got a bullbar fitted? If so my money would be on the splice in to the indicator wire on that side.
