						hey all,
Id like to know who is running wheel spacers and/or large offset rims on rover axles???
doesnt matter what diffs (toy/rover/sals), doesnt matter what shafts, or cvs etc. what Im interested is if anyone is having problems with the:
Front: swivel ball to axle case flange connection
rear: spindle (stub axle) to axle case flange connection
please let me know how much offset you are running and or what size wheel spacers. also how much the vehilce is driven
cheers,
Serg

im not here to find out what is and isnt legal..... and im not here to judge those that chose to run what they do. Also not all are run on the road. some are doing comps and offroad only.
please keep the info I asked for coming guys.
Have you had problems with these? I'm running pretty big offset on a daily driver, not sure of the amount but its up there.
I would have thought the bolted connection flanges would be the least of any possable problems ??? Wouldn't the stub (spindle) bend / snap before the bolts even thought of letting go?
This Defender was used for touring and play. AFAIK it didn't have any problems with the exception of a CV taking out a stub.

Cheers

no I personaly havent had any probelms. Im just interested if anyone else has. From my experience with LR's I tend to find out the probelms first hand, and then here about them from others, AFTER i have tried something. Would be nice to know before hand
so if Slunnie and Hardchina can get some measurements that would be great. And if others could chime in to
Serg
Ok.
75mm backspace
15 x 8" sunnie rims with 34 x 10.5" jt2's
these came off a rangie which had no probs, then to a series 3 which also had no probs - now on a 110 with no probs so far. Daily driving, no fully sic off road stuff though, except the rangie, whos offroad history i'm uncertain of.
Hi Serg,
I am running -25 15*8 wheels with 35*13.5 tyres and I use it pretty hard. Never had issues with the bolted connections.
They stick out a long way!

so both Hardchina and Psimpson7 have 3 inches (75mm) backspace (which is measurement from inside rim lip to mounting face) and 5 inches (125mm) from mounting face to outside lip of rim.
is this correct
both 8 inch rim, either negative 25mm offset or 3 inch (75mm) backspace = same thing?
