NOPE!
The tyre should be got rid of and never driven on. Just think about what you are really playing with before you try to save a couple of hundred bucks.
Hello everyone,
What is the Verdict on tire sidewall repairs? Can it be done to a point of legal and reliable quality?
I found this tire with a cut along the sidewall, looks like a Stanley knife.

thats the big XX right there....
That tyre is now only fit for the things that you usually use dead tyres for, kids swing, push rubber on the bull bar, step through for footy training, anything that doesnt involve putting it on a rim and filling it with air.

The text on the tyre is so appropriate...
wakey wakey, I thought the thread had been sleeping too long.
I have a sidewall cut in 19" General Grabber AT with about 20K wear. The cut (a flap about 10cm long) exposes the ply in one area about the size of a 10cent piece but does not cut the ply.
It is currently the spare, but wonder if it's repairable or a throw away.
Won't be staying with the GG, so wanted to wear out what I have.
No I didn't take piccies.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
I'd rather drive on Steeltreks than a tyre with side wall damage.
Side wall damage usually becomes sidewall failure or blowout which causes accidents. Some, in an emergency, fit tubes using a piece of tube to protect the tube from the side wall damage.
Get an old s/h tyre and use it as a spare if you don't want to fork out the cash at the moment.
