Australian Supplier of Carling Contura II Switches?

Does anyone know a supplier of Carling Contura II switches in Australia? I know I can get them from a number of places in England, including Mudstuff, but the postage is a bit steep and will probably double the price of my order.

While I'm here, if anyone knows a good source of block connectors for dash wiring that would be good too. The dashboard in my 110 is a mess and I'll have to rebuild it if the thing is ever going to go back on the road. Almost all of it is held together with odd screws, tape, window framing and bits of tin. I'll probably use a combination of Raptor, Mudstuff, OEM and custom parts but try not to make it look like a dog's breakfast. As part of this I'd like to make all of the facia panels easy to remove by using block connectors for the wiring.

    Cheers, Dave.

    Dave,

Get a solid quote for the parcel delivery before dismissing the UK option. DHL (which most UK companies use) works by weight and you can buy an absolute host of Carling switches before the weight gets expensive. Added benefit from MUD is the availability of the decals/labels in sheet form.

Unless you buy them from a local supplier (driving distance), Australian parcel service will more than likely be more expensive than from the UK.

Did you do a search of the forum?

    * Whitworths Marine sell them. Gabba store has grey rockers, LED slit (not square)

    * Total Source wholesale them. Check their website. They have a 1800 number to find your closest retailer. Think Springers source theirs from here

From my investigations none of the ones availabe locally are teh same as the MUD STUFF ones. They either don't have the lights, they have different colour lights, the light panels are slightly different or they switch in the opposite direction (like ARB airlocker ones).

When are you doing th order becuase IF you buy from Mudstuff I may want coupel of extra ones too.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I tried to get them locally some time ago and could not get them in Australia. I ordered them with my mud pod and it did not add bugger all to the postage cost.

    Have a look at www.customrockers.com.au

They have all the switches you would want in a choice of colour panels and the labels are printed, not stickers.

Last time I was in a Springers 12v store they had some on the shelf. This was several months ago. They have stores at Tingalpa and Lawnton way I think.

I have done a search on the forum (always do before asking a question) and made a few phone calls, but haven't had much luck. I will need 7 - 10 switches of various types and would prefer to go to one supplier. There are also things like mounting plates, blanks, removal tool and so on that I may want to buy. I'm keen to get 2 x 12 volt power outlets. It also looks like I'll have 8 or 9 gauges, plus a few digital items like a TM2 unit, digital tach and clock. Then there's the radio/MP3 link (will need a new one), UHF and probably a reversing camera and eventually sat nav.

Almost everything in the cockpit at the moment is junk, so I may as well start fresh.

Have you tried one of the boating suppliers? They may not have the Carling switches but usually have a good range of quality switches and mounting panels etc.
    Just a suggestion.
