any hydrualic shop should be able to make up some new ones. I made some at work the other day for a classic rangie using CCR hose fittings. CCr are a company like enzed used here on the mine at which i work
Has anybody had some RRC power steering hoses made up, using the old ones as reference? I called a place in Broome and the guy there ummed and said maybe he could do it, (and fair enough, too, since he hadn't seen the old hoses), but can someone name a place where it's been done so I know for sure they can do it?

Ring up Whyatts in Geraldton .....
Landrover and Rangerovers in Geraldton - Whyatts Automotive
I had some made up a while back at an ENZED dealer, simple matter of cutting and crimping.
Thanks very much, guys. I was surprised that mister Broome hydraulic man was so reticent but no doubt he didn't want to commit himself. I've got hoses from a wreck to send along on Monday. (I hope they get there - it took two weeks for a set of spark plugs to get straight down 400km of road from Broome to here!)
I called Whyatt's and the guy there said he'd ring back. If I get stuck next week I'll pester some of you for a company phone number.
And making your own hoses at work . . . that's almost cheating!![]()

Davo, mate, use BusFreight (Greyhound). And the AutoPro shop in Broome knows how to do that - the depot is just around the corner!
BTW, which hoses? And the hose joint in Broome could make them in an hour.

Funny you should say that - I was thinking that Greyhound is the way to go from now on. I heard an odd story that the mail somehow winds up in Perth and then back up here again. I keep meaning to get onto Australia Post and make them explain how an Express Post bag takes two weeks to get down the road.
I'll try Autopro next time if they're clued up on that.
Whyatt's called back today and said that apparently there are none of these hoses in the entire country, and that the prices he was quoted were a silly $200-$300 a hose, but it was good of them to try and chase them up.
I'm after all three hoses since these are old and since I'm doing the steering box it's a good time to change them. I'll be pulling the old hoses off the wreck and Greyhounding them on Monday. Er, though I'll have to see if the hydraulics place will pick them up from the depot . . . details, details. This is why everyone has a Toyota up here.

Well, I finally got one hose copied, and it cost #$%& $210. I shouldn't complain too much, as they seem to have done a good job, but they didn't have the fitting that goes into the pump, so they cut the one off my old hose, (which was going to be a spare), and soldered it on. And the hose itself it funny-looking cloth covered Indian stuff. Though rated for 3000psi.
So, can anyone post the details of a company where they've actually had this job done?

I had new set made up in Wangara .... I also had the Engine Oil pump made up in Midland ... Can't remember the names of the companies, but will post up in a few days when I drive past them ... From memory, they also reused the old thread ends
The dollar cost you mentioned is about the same for mine ($100 a line)
Cheers
Mike
Cough . . . splutter . . . no, it was $200 a line for me. And I apologise to the Indians - the line they used for this was from Mexico. (The Indian hose was a bit I got for the suction side.) I only got one hose made up, thankfully, while the other came from England. So when I put all three hoses in, it'll sound like a joke. You know: An Indian, a Mexican, and an Englishman walk into a bar . . .
I need somewhere that can actually make a whole new hose and leave the old one for copying later on. But those company names would be good and then I'll have another option, so thanks for that.
Or I'll just get a job at a mine!![]()
