Rover 3.9L V8 - 14CUX - Bosch fuel injectors?
Hello all.
Getting to the end of my V8 rebuild and I've struck an issue. Somewhere in the my engine's past it appears to have completely ingested the nozzle from one of the fuel injectors. How it happened I have no idea. The rest of the nozzles are not in great shape.
I'm loath to spend much more on this bastard project, but I can't bring myself to put them back as they are so I'll spend what is necessary. The engine will spend 99% of its time on LPG.
I've done some trawling back through the archives here but have found mostly inconclusive discussions on which Bosch injectors are the most suitable replacement for the D1830GA Lucas units.
The engine is has 9.35:1 pistons and everything else put back to standard spec including standard 3.9L EFI cam.
I'd be grateful if those who know can post Bosch part numbers. Fiveomotorsport list the Bosch 0280156013 and Ford C302 injectors as suitable but there seems to be some conjecture about suitability for Australian 14CUX management.
Thanks!

The Bosch gen11 IMHO is the best compromise. I have a set from Fiveomotorsports, but that was several years ago and they now changed the spec, presumably because they could not get them. I would think the ones they sell now are also suitable.
I was told by Ward at Graeme Cooper that they were a little richer at low revs than the Lucas but overall were suitable.
Gen11 also have the slot for the retaining clip which gen111 do not have.
Seeing I have o2 sensors, they control richness so make the injectors 100% compatable.
If you are looking on ebay they are usually advertised as suitable for Mustang 4.6.

How about these.
bosch injector mustang | eBay
There are numerous ones here.
I have a set of the gen111 yellows in mine currently, but the yellow and black Gen11 19Lb ones are probably better.
make sure they have the correct square plug.
Gen11 and 111 are functionally similar , the Gen111 do not have the slot for the clip.

Another update. The rebuild is running superbly on ULP with these injectors. Far better than with the old Lucas stuff. I can highly recommend the change.

Mac,
Did you use the ones in the link you posted above? I just had a look at the seller's advertisement and it said the injectors were not suitable for a 3.9 Discovery,
Cheers Charlie

These are exactly what I've bought, installed and been happy with. They're the original fitment for the Mustangs listed in the ad, and definitely not original fitment to any Discovery. But they work well and fit perfectly. The set I received had new o-rings and baskets and dropped straight in with grooves in the right place for the retaining clips. The model number is FOTE-D5A.
