G'day Pete, sounds like knackered booster, I recently had to change mine also with similar symptoms. Can't complain, it lasted nearly 20 years. Works good now altho I changed both booster and MC. The booster no is PBR VH524. I am going to check out if they can reco the old one and keep for a spare.
    Cheers......Brian

Thanks Brian. You're probably right. Mine was reco'ed in about 2000 but installed in about 2005 so I'm a bit disappointed. And it comes on the back of a range of electrical problems and a rusted/leaking fuel tank installed new in 2005. So the relationship is a little strained ATM.

Is the booster on the 6X6 the same as on the 110 and does anyone know the part number of the MC on the 6x6 with disk brake retrofit? My engineer wants the details for the certification of my Defender 6X6.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Different booster and MC. The Perentie 6X6 has a F250 setup and I am pretty sure but not 100% that nothing was changed when rear discs were fitted. You need to find someone who has an RPS Vol 1 of 02186 which has both drum and disc specs and part numbers listed. I have Vol 2 only. This RPS covers 6X6 GS W/W.
    Cheers......Brian

Mystery current leakage, tail light loom, corroded connections - general stuff.

The under seat style tank - rusty bottom & inlet tube had weld fracture. Unlike yours mine has a custom tank. So replacement is custom too.

    Hi Brian

Thanks for that clue. I have Vol 1 of the RPS 02209 but it only gives a Land Rover (manufacturer code "Z0096) AYG part number (AYG439) for the mc assembly. However when you go to the booster it gives a manufacturer code "Z0791"and part No. "VH516", so Z0791 is PBR.

Then you can go back and find all the individual parts of the master cylinder have PBR part numbers. So while I don't have the PBR assembly number, I may be able to find the assembly number by back checking the individual parts with a brake specialist!

We could always start another thread but we already had a thread where people know the part number of the Perentie 110 booster and despite my asking the same question at least 3 times previously I have found out my needs in only three posts (and now 5)

Surely that's efficient and what this forum is about.

Yeah, I know, sorry about the hijack, but probably have helped 2 people here without starting a new thread. No damage done.
