Depends on how thick the steel is as to how much it can be cold bendt or needs to be fabricated bendt.
Cost ...... ? I'd suggest have a go yourself if you have tools.

						There is some excellent information on the forum regarding recovery points. I have an ARB bar (1996) on my Defender and find that the tags (which are reinforced with a 'washer' welded to them) are fine for normal recovery using a bridle although they can and do bend if sideways force is applied. However, I concur with those who have doubts as to their suitability for snatch recovery.
The idea of 'axle direct recovery' is logical and appeals strongly. I would like to fit recovery points to the front radius arm bush mountings. I visualise a strong plate on either side of the bush bent into an 'S' (much like snatch block construction) drilled to accept a 3.5 T shackle which passes then through both plates. A similar arrangement on the other bush mounting would then allow a bridle to be attached.
Has anyone done something like this or does anyone know who would be able to make up such plates?

						i think the company is "yi-can" that does the adr. they also do the timing gear conversion for tdi's. basicly a longer bolt through the front eye of the raidus arm with one end of some 16mm wire rope looped up to the front, temp fixed to the underside of the bumper and then back to the other front eye of the raidus arm. like a bridle attached to the r-arms

Looked good and the idea was good but they did not really work in pratice. You always looked like you were about to rip the axel out from under the truck. Looked like they were also going to rip the radius arm bush out of the chassis. There was a company in the UK making them but did not do very well

I found an Aussie place that does after market recovery points that you can mount to the ARB bar (or other such surface). I will post details and pics as soon as I get the fvilm developed I promise (Paul - I promise I promise I promise) ASAP on my return from Fraser - so say 2 weeks time.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
