Accessing accessory switches in the Puma.

My next task is to wire up my driving lights. I have purchased an OEM driving light switch to keep my interior tidy and faithful to the brand.
Does anyone have some quick tips on accessing the accessory switches in the top row to the right of the hazard lights switch. I removed the two obvious phillips head screws either side of the climate control dials and then became stuck. It will be a real challenge for me to route the switch wires to the rear of the switch panel, let alone wire and install the switch! Any help would be very much appreciated.

Do you mean Phillips or Torx?

Once the two Torx screws are removed you just need to lever the panel out (I normally use a couple of old butter knives).

Thanks for that. I thought as much but I'm paranoid about cracking a panel. (My mistake. They are torx of corse)

As has been said the panel just pulls off once the 2 screws are out.
They are very tight but loosen up after about 5 removals
The clock comes with it so watch the wiring when you refit it to make sure nothing is pinched.

The switch you're using should have a plug and 4 wires, just wire it per the paperwork.
All of the switches(rear wiper/demister/air cond./etc.) use the same terminals for back lighting.
From memory it's the 2 outer ones are back lighting, same coloured wire is used on the cigarette lighter back light too.
    Cheers, Kyle

Back lighting. I didn't even think of that. Thanks. I might need myself a full day to do this one!

Just a thought for you, it's not necessary to remove the panel to install a switch. Just grab a small screwdriver and lightly lever each side of the blanking button - it pops out quite easily. This then allows ample room to run a draw wire down through the rear of the facia to where you need to go. The new switch is the easily popped into position once you connect the wires.

When your putting the fascia back in there's a bit at the back of the radio that has to line up with a hole. You'll know what I mean when you have it out. You need to make sure there's no cables in the way. If everything is out of the way it lines up properly the fascia should just push back in easily enough.

Whenever we've had ours out I've found it takes a bit of fiddling to get it back in correctly. Generally we have one of us sitting in each seat and working each side to get it too line up.

I find the radio goes in on the first try, or the four hundredth try. :/

    Cheers,

    Cheers,
That's the one. 30 seconds or 45 minutes.
