WTB 2000 Defender Extreme Steering Wheel Boss Kit

Does any one know of a retailer in Australia that stocks a Boss kit for a 2000 Defender Extreme? My steering wheel is a bit cactus (worn badly on top) and I want to replace it. Most places I have contacted by email have not even replied or do not know of one and most retailers I have been in to stare blankly when you mention Defender.

These guys quoted this, but don't hold your breath.

"Y17-1320-B25 Boss kit is on order from the UK $165.00 Inc GST"

Dated 30/8/05 and still not seen.

I rang Saas about two years ago and they sent me a boss.

It turned out to be wrong, so I Cad-ed the correct dimensions and sent it back to them, they re machined and all is well.

Give them a call, I think I paid the princely sum of $85.00 two years ago...

Mine has a Momo Race attached now, great wheel...

    Cheers

The SAAS boss kit will fit if you modify the plastic housing at the bottom.
The splines and diameter are correct but the plastic housing is about
10 mm too long at the bottom and therefor touches the steering column surround. I got mine from autobarn for about $65.

Contacted autoechnica and they inform me that they neither have one in the autotechnica or SAAS catalogue for a Defender. Is the one you have listed for a Defender or another vehicle and just fits a Defender. Also waht spline is yours? Also who did you get yours through? Would be nice if they had online catalogues. Having an absolute ****e of a time trying to get one for a 2000 model Extreme.
    Thanks

Geez what a joke. The people who actually reply do not have one in any brand or know of one. Some of the ones who may have the item do not even reply.

A TD5 Extreme should use the same boss as a pre-Defender 110 (the 4 spoke wheel)

Isotta did list them, and they have a good range of wheels. I fitted an Isotta wheel to my 200tdi.

Autobahn & Motoquipe are the Australian dealers.

You beauty Paul. Now I might be able to get rid of my buggered wheel. I reckon I have emailed and phoned 50 different place in the last 6 weeks or so.
