    County Air Con Vacuum Lines

I was hoping someone will have a schematic drawing of the vacuum lines for a 1984 110 County air con/heater system.

In the rear of the heater control panel on mine is a "D" shaped connector - much like a computer D-connector. there are 7 positions for vacuum lines on this in two rows (3 "pins" and 4 "pins"). Four of the lines are blanked off.

My problem is that I can only find two vacuum lines in behind the dash which would obviously connect to the connector - the others go to the vacuum servos. If I had a schematic I might be able to sort it out.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Vacuum lines

I'm glad you said 4 were blanked off, as mine is the same, I thought maybe I had done it years ago & forgotten.
Do you have 3 lines, and two of them create a suction?
Unfortunately there is nought on this in the 1984 onwards workshop manual, so I hope you get a positive reply, as I think mine could be wrong too.

I found the third line tucked down out of sight and have drawn up a schematic diagram.

I have the dash back together after repairing the switch panel - melted from too big a globe and mounting tabs broken off, a broken duct which allowed the vacuum servo to move without moving the flap, rerubbering the flaps for better sealing, repairing the clock, etc.

I painted the dash in special paint so it looks nice and clean once more.
I shall have to buy some new vents to finish it off.

I'll draw the schematic neatly and post it on my website in the next day or so.

    Ron,
is there a procedure outlining the sequence for pulling the County dash apart. My heater controls are not connected as a previous owner has installed a pullout lever (next to the hand throttle) to open up the heater valve.
    Thanks

The heater lever in the dash operates a flap in the heater under the bonnet. At the same time, as it reaches the fully cold position, it depresses a button on a vacuum control valve on the outside of the heater case (under the bonnet). This allows vacuum to operate the hot water valve and close the water flow to the heater.

On mine, the heater control wasn't reaching the vacuum valve so hot water flowed all the time. That I found this morning.

I now have a fully operational heater system - pity I don't have air con (yet).

    Aircon

    Ron,
Glad to see you worked it out.
I recently fitted a newer model aircon compressor to my County, it only needed a 10mm spacer to align. Got new hoses fitted - After 6 years I had lost the old ones and the compressor had siezed- and gassed up and it works fine

    Ron,
Did you ever draw up a scematic of the vacuum plug that goes on the back of the A/C - Heater Control Unit . Mine has disintegrated and I cant get a new one so I will have to make one up.

I know I have three incoming lines.

Oooo. I'm not sure if I have anything any more Jim. That was 5 years ago and I sold the County not long after. I'll look.

    Ron,
Thanks for having a look. I thought overnight it can't be too complicated. There would be 1 hose in coming (from the manifold or somewhere), and then three out. Challenge is to figure out what goes where.

    Regards

    Jim

I have these very blurry photos but I'm sure there is a drawing I made somewhere. (I hadn't realised I'd bumped a camera control and it wasn't focussing.)
