No.
Has anyone installed a switch to disable / enable the traction control on a D2?
If it can be disabled by just pulling the fuse can a simple two way switch be installed somewhere on the dashboard to turn it off for sand driving?
No.

Do you have the diff lock in the transfer case or the switch wiring I have the C.D.L. fitted in mine and I can turn the traction control off by locking the transfer case and when the red light comes on turn the ignition off and restart, this turns the traction control off also brings up the three orange lights for hill descent,ABS and traction control.
Unless you can lock your transfer case there is no advantage turning the traction control off
disco seriesII mods so far:-bullbar,hyd winch,
detriot locker, lsd front,C.D.L kit, chipped and bigger intercooler,2" lift, rock sliders, lsd in transfer case, modified auto trans.

I don't know why you want to disable TC for sand. There is absolutely no need or benefit.
I believe you can pull the ABS fuse, and that disables it, as well as ABS though.
Yes I have a CDL but no indication light to see if it is activated or not. I just select low range and CDL activates.(special order from dealer) I read in one of the older threads of the TC being a hinderence on sand even with the CDL activated thus why I was thinking a switch could rectify the problem
Dobbo,
C'mon man. "I read"....

Landies are crap
They're unreliable
They spill oil

Never experienced any of it.
TheTC on sand thing is a myth mate

If the tyre pressures are lowered correctly, TC hardly comes into play on sand in my limited experience.Originally Posted by dobbo
We had a few D3s along with a D2 & Freelander on Stockton earlier this year. TC cutting in wasn't an issue. Stupid drivers of the company cars, well that's another thing.
I'm interested in the dealer mod that automatically engages the diff lock when you select low range. Especially since you have an 02MY Disco.
Does it have an earlier transfer case with the diff lock internals ?

I tried to take a photo but the image is to dark to see anything even after turning up the brightness on the image. Unfortunately the kids have used all of my new batteries on their Thomas Tank Engine set so the flash isn't working on my camera. I'll get a photo or two over the next few days. Is there any i.d numbers on the transfer case to identify what it is (that can be seen from underneath the car)
I was digging all four tyres in and coming to a standstill going up Big Red last trip and TC never came on, yet it buzzes if I swing into my dirt driveway too hard, go figure.
