    TD5 oil in harness Qs

    Hi Guys,help please.
I have the dreaded oil in the loom, the injector loom has been replaced.
The common threads section on this appears to be out of order, page wont open.
The only fault Im getting is the cooling fan running constantly with the engine.
Will this go once the oil stops?
Is the oil inside every wire or traveling along each wire?
If its travelling ALONG the wires where else does the oil turn up to cause trouble?
Ive now opened the ECU,no sign of oil inside.
Richard sugests cuting the protective sheath down low to let the oil out, this is why I ask if the oil is in or on the wires.I cant tell by looking, dont seem to be very oily only at the connector.
Any web links with info to read up on.
    Thanks people.

    Andy,
To me it looked a little like both, on the outside of the wire sheaths and in the core of the wire. Pretty much one of the most unacceptable problems with TD5s, and LR have basically just put their head in the sand and want to know nothing about it. I seriously doubt my nest 4x4 will be a Rover, well maybe. The problem is the oil pools in the connector in front of the head. The design should be reversed with the male plugs on the bottom and a couple of small drain holes in the connector cup. This would avoid most of these problems as the oil would not pool in the female connectors. Looking at the injector harness itself, I do not believe it gets into the core of the wiring here, but travels along the outer sheath to the connector where it pools and flow along the outer and inner of the main harness. the injector harness I pulled out of mine cleaned up quite nicely and is now a back up spare. The orings that are supposed to stop the oil passing into the connector are another issue and even the new design do wear.

Is this just a disco issue, or does this affect the defender as well ?

(Sorry new to the defender thing!)
