Remove / refit rear sliding window

Anyone had to remove . refit a rear window in a ute ?

(I presume these are the same as the side windows in the wagons but I'm not absolutely sure on that point).

One my my spring latches is borken and while I have a new one to fit, it would appear I need to remove the glass in order to do so ?

Anyway it wouldn't hurto to remove and clean up the lot ! Needs some 'anti rattle' installed too ! LOL
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

if it is the same as the wagon rear sliding windows, you'll need to remove the frame and mullion before you can take the glass out.

Pull the rubber strip off the outside, drill the rivets out then (can't remember which) either unscrew or drill out the rivets holding the two halves together.

Glass should have fallen out by this stage - CRASH

If you've got the EPC look at the parts drawings

Any trick to pulling the rubber off ? (and refitting)

What rivets will I need to put it back together ? I have a common garden variety hand riveter at home for odd jobs etc - will this be up to the task ?

I can't remember 100% of what's involved, so I maybe talking about the wrong thing here, but I think I used a screwdriver and to patiently push the rubber back on... and used a small blade driver to slowly pry it out, then pulled it off...

I remember I did mine with a supercheap hand riveter... not too hard, but my hand was tired/sore at the end due to the poor quality of the pop-gun... and my soft office hands

It's an easy job, just don't get impatient with it... and be prepared to damage a few internal trim retaining plugs... I broke about 3 of them getting the trim off...

Find the joind and simple pull gently. It's flanged so putting it back in is a matter of easing the edges in under the lip. Careful putting the corners back in and don't stretch it as it goes back (or it will be too long).

Rivet size is.. runs to tool box at backdoor... 5.3 - I'm sure that's they one's I used.

As for the hand riveter, that's all I used, but the first one I bought was a real cheapie (Warrior) and only lasted 5 rivets before the jaws gave out, got a Spears and Jackson, UK one and its done several dozen rivets now. I also Sikaflex'd the window back in as a weather seal, but that makes it very hard to remove a second time

Just remember I did this on a D'fer 110's rear side windows, there may be a few differences.
