    Ideas to finish off snorkel

well, who has a few ideas?
snorkel is 80mm al tube, welded to some bling guard checkerplate...

dont like the plastic top idea

option 1 is a top hat with intake around the circumference a-la mantec

option 2 is to plate off the pipe parrallel with the roof and then make the intake at the rear of the pipe to stop rainwater ingress (it rains a bit in cairns)

option 3 is to fab up a front scoop

option 4 is to bend the pipe backwards up onto the roof (difficult in structural 80mm Al)

    option 5 is...

    what are your ideas?

the tube isnt welded yet, will be parrallel to windscreen, just didnt want to lean that way for the photo. I like option 4 but pretty sure bending the pipe will crush it pretty badly?

So bend it towards the middle of the cab and then put on a swirl bowl????

A donaldson wouldnt fit into the inexpensive category I like.
The gaurds were a gift payment for building a mates roof rack, overhauling a winch and fitting it and fixing a trailer... The tube is off cut, the ducting to sir box will be care of the old disco... total cost some mig wire, gas, time and a few rivets???

Try a truck wreckers for a Jappa air filter unit. The Daihatsu Delta Diesel has just such a set up. I'll be using one on the diesel conversion in my S3.
