Turns out is was a faulty MAF sensor and Turbo Wastegate Modulator. Both replaced and now back to full power and speed. Cost was around $900, thank %*^# it was covered by the warranty. The warranty premium has definitely paid for itself this year!
That said, if I was paying for the MAF, I probably would have tried to clean it first...
From other threads elsewhere on this issue, it seems that this problem crops up a fair bit. For those concerned, I hope the above gives you some indication as to where to start looking...

Just a small tip that may save you around $500 if it should ever happen again, you can get the MAF alot cheaper than that at around $400 at the most, from memory i only paid $300 maybe cheaper and the wastegate modulator should only be $45 genuine.
IN hindsight yes cleaning it may have worked, but dealers won't do this
