    V8 Power Steering Pump Help

Hi Guys, my HP line from the PS Pump sprung a leak so I pulled it out last night, with some difficulty. The hose connector to the Pump did not want to move at all, but the bit it screws into came undone, so I kept undoing that. When it came out of the pump housing, some extra bits came with it And as it is on the bottom of the pump I didn't see which order they came out. The three bits in the pic are the bits I have. The bit on the right screws into the PS pump housing, the HP hose attaches to this.
The other 2 bits are the bits I'm not sure of. It is not covered in RAVE as the Pump is not "Serviceable". My feeling is that the bit on the left goes in first, then the spring then the bit that screws into the housing. Is this correct

Looks like a pressure relief valve. ????

It should be fairly obvious which goes where, if you look at it closely. Possibly.

Yeah, that's what I reckon 4bee, just want to make sure I put it back in the right way, no good having a pressure relief valve that doesn't relieve pressure
Anyone pulled their PS pump apart and know how it goes back together??

Have just a look at the WM, but it gives nothing away in this respect.

At a guess I would think the plunger goes in first sealing up against the port > spring > nut.

I suggest you wait off until someone can give you a definitive reply.

Thanks 4bee, I did find that also.
I'm 99% sure that you're right in that the plunger goes in big end first then the spring then the fitting. But that gives me 1% chance of spraying ATF everywhere through my busted brand new hose
Anyone want to step in a say, "Yep thats the right way it goes together"

One has been known to be wrong though with dire results.

Well, not dire results, no burst hoses, no grinding noises, but no power assistance.
Surely someone must have pulled one of these pumps apart or have one sitting on a shelf that they can have a quick look for me.
