Been blowing fuses for the horn over the last few days, so decided this weekend would be the fix time.
After checking wiring at the horn end, and reconfirming what a lousy wiring job land rover do, couldn't find any bare wires etc. Next stop check around the steering column and try to follow the wiring into the loom, couldn't see any thing amiss but did notice the horn/wiper switch assemblies were loose, tightened them up and - no more blowing fuses. Couldn't see exactly what was shorting on what, but a nice simple fix.
So I did an oil and filter change as wellThat'll be good for another couple of months.

Discov's have two horns, a Hi & a Lo note.Very unmanly - must replace it with a Disco horn!
Earlier this year I wondered why one of them was a bit ****. Sorted it down to the vibrator bit being a bit rusted/seized through lack of use.
Locked the horn button down, gave it a good burst of WD40 up the trumpet & a few thumps with a bit of 3" x 2" while it was energised & 'squawking'.
That fixed it as it slowly came good, & now I give it a routine honk in the shed to keep the bits free.
Discov's have good horns. [envy smiley]![]()
