Unique Exaust's in Bayswater or just take it to Jamie at Allranges, he will sort it out.

As far as hollowing out cats, why would you want to?

They are there to remove the carciogenic gases that are produced by burning ULP as well as that roton egg smell that you get when your cat isnt working any longer.

There is no power gain to be had by removing them as they are pretty much free flowing anyway but if you do need more flow then you should fit larger Cat's rather than removing them or hollowing them out.

And yes it is against EPA regs thus rendering your vehical un roadworthy if you hollow them out or remove them.

Your car sounds great NJZ...but what is it like to drive? Any more power? Any better economy? Whats the noise like inside now?

Does anybody know a good exhaust shop in Brisbane?

    That's better.
I've been quoted $300 from performance exhausts in Brendale Qld, for a similar thing on my Disco. thing

It feels better to drive. The engine revs more freely and it pulls better from low revs. It feels like its got a more power too.

The fuel economy hasn't got any worse. I think its about 10% better than before.

Its a bit louder inside. Outside its VERY loud. And in a good way.

BTW, I've been driving this truck for about 10 years so I notice any changes in how it drives easily.

Thanks Nik...I'm convinced but I do have one last question to keep the Minister of War and Finance happy, does it drone in the cabin?

I spoke to Performance Exhausts in Brendale, who are going to do mine.
To stop the drone they use a flow through muffler that is offset inside, plus a resinator at the rear.

When I got there they had just finished fitting extractors and a big bore exhaust to a Land Cruiser V8.

I don't believe the 3.9 V8 really needs extractors as the manifolds are quite well designed as they are.
